Eto’o crushes United #Chelsea #manunited

Well done: Samuel Eto’o is congratulated by Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho paid tribute to Samuel Eto’o after the striker’s hat-trick fired Chelsea to victory of Manchester United this afternoon.

Eto’o produced his best performance in a  Blues shirt against the Red Devils to secure a 3-1 triumph at Stamford Bridge.

It was Mourinho’s 100th Premier League win, making him the quickest manager ever  to reach that figure, and it was three-goal Eto’o who the Special One thanked for firing him to the landmark.

“I’m delighted with the three points. Of  course, I love it when one of my players becomes a special player. It’s a fantastic moment for Samuel to score a hat-trick against Man United.

“I think we deserved to win but I don’t think we deserved to be winning 2-0 at half-time. Man United started the match very well and they were a bit unlucky.

“When we scored the second goal we were in a great position. At 3-0 we killed the game. But after that they were coming and when they made the 3-1 I felt we were tiring.”

Despite beating the champions so convincingly, Mourinho feels there is still plenty of room for improvement in this Chelsea side and will be expecting fewer mistakes in Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Stoke City next weekend.

“I think we lost a lot of balls in the  first period of the game. Willian, Oscar and Eden [Hazard] were losing a lot of balls when usually they are comfortable under pressure.

“The good thing for us is that my team is what I call in this moment a humble team.

“You can identify the moments of the game when you’re better than your opponent and you must try to go and kill the game. When your opponent is better, you have to be humble and try to control.”
